The perfect way to start!
A Static Line Jump is a very cost effective way into the sport and is a good option for those who have a possible interest in continuing as a skydiver; for those who are a little more daring, Static Line is a thrilling skydiving experience! Courses are run in groups of up to 12 people but cater for everyone.
The course gives you the experience of jumping by yourself from a minimum of 3,200ft. Progression to qualified skydiver status takes a little longer than the Accelerated Freefall course, yet it is still just as much fun! Each level has its own challenges and after this first jump, most centres charge as little as £40 per jump to continue! Once you have completed your intial static line jumps successfully, you will progress on to freefall... first of all on a 3 second delay, gradually progressing all the way to the top (13,000 feet) and up to 1 minute in freefall. You will be learning new skills on the way including backflips, turns, dive exits and much more!
The cost of the course includes a minimum of 6 hours ground training, 3rd Party British Parachute Association (BPA) Temporary membership and the static line jump, which (weather permitting) should take place later in the day or as soon as possible thereafter. Your descent will be made using the Static Line deployed parachute (the parachute is deployed automatically as you exit the plane) from a minimum of 3,200 feet over the Drop Zone (DZ). Once you have completed this jump, you are bound to want to continue! Full BPA membership is required before going on to freefall, which if your static line jumps go well should be after jump 6!! (cost of membership available on request).
All courses run at the student's pace and lessons include Equipment Familiarisation, Canopy Control, Aircraft Drills and Emergencies, Exits, Landings and Malfunctions. Each lesson is easy to understand and involves hands on as well as classroom lectures. Each student is supplied with all necessary equipment.
